I don't agree with manually specifying bogon ranges due to the rate at which IPv4 space is being consumed, this eventually leads to out of date ACL's causing reachability problems.

Instead I'd suggest you subscribe to https://www.arin.net/participate/mailing_lists/arin_issued.html or some other feed of IP allocations and use a system to push out Cisco config changes.

Either that or just drop RFC 1918 space and not worry about the bogon's.

It's my understanding that aa5snap is used with PPPoE NOT PPoA, the configuration for PPPoA is as follows:

interface ATM0
description — Internode ADSL —
no ip address
no atm ilmi-keepalive
pvc 8/35
tx-ring-limit 3
encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer
dialer pool-member 1

dsl operating-mode auto

Just upgraded to 15.0(1)XA a couple of days ago and it looks as if the SNMP OID's for your cacti templates for the C877-M have changed. What is the easiest way to find out what the new SNMP OID's are?

Hi Alcatron,

I've just upgraded to:

Cisco IOS Software, C870 Software (C870-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.0(1)XA, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

on my C877-M and it looks as if Cisco has changed the OID's in the new version. Any ideas how I can find out the new OID's that need to be used to use your cacti templates?

Thanks.

You will need to find what SNMP OIDs are in use for that particular modem and then edit the values in Cacti what IDs to probe. Read my article on GetIF http://www.alcatron.net/?p=104

I tried this with my old soho77 (an 837 in drag) and none of the ADSL specific graphs return anything. My router must be too old.

<a href="#comment-345" rel="nofollow">@Bert</a>

Just reverted to 3.0.014 and ,yes, my downstream increased 500 odd kbps. Upstream also decreased by 150 odd kbps, so I guess it's just slightly different upstream v. downstream weighting.
